Sara Taggart works hard each day to engage students at Mifflin High School in their learning and empowers them to understand what they are learning and why it is important to learn it. She uses her lunchtime to tutor students who have had to miss time for illness and communicates with parents regularly to involve them in their children’s learning. She mentors new teachers to the building, sacrificing time to answer various adult questions among the time she gives to answering student questions – all with a generous and giving spirit. She impacts the lives of not only her own students, but the students of all the teachers in the building she supports with a kind note, a positive message, or a missed fact that they need to excel at being the teacher they are. In addition to this, she works a second job on the weekends and often continues teaching work after school as well.
